With a mission to help raise standards, aspirations and results in independent local businesses, Graeme has worked extensively with owner-managed SMEs across Somerset, Dorset and Devon, giving them the skills, tools, knowledge, understanding and confidence to grow their businesses and grow themselves.
Level Up offers businesses and organisations help across the whole of the support spectrum – including consultancy, facilitation, training, mentoring and coaching – to Owner/Founders and their leadership and management teams. We are sector-agnostic, and work with a wide variety of businesses in different industries : we don’t pretend to know your business better than you do, but do know that we can offer the outside perspective and experience you need to help you grow.
Graeme founded Level Up in 2006, following a 16 year career in management and leadership in manufacturing businesses in the textile and construction products sectors. Originally a marketer, Graeme’s corporate career took him through senior Sales and Marketing and Commercial Director roles and into general management. He has managed teams in all disciplines across the UK and Ireland and in Western Europe and was involved in two successful and profitable Management Buy-Outs prior to starting Level Up in 2006.
Graeme’s passion is in helping Business Owners and Leaders unlock their potential, and thereby the potential for their organisations and their employees. He brings perspective gained from over 35 years of real-life business experience, coupled with the positivity and energy to motivate others to take action.
Alongside Level Up, Graeme has been an active figure in the local business community, including serving six years as Director of Somerset Chamber of Commerce, three of those as Chair.
Since 2006, Level Up has specialised in supporting independent, owner-operated businesses in the South West. These have ranged from start-ups to second- and third-generation family businesses, employing from 1 right up to 1200 people.
They have covered a whole variety of industries and sectors – manufacturing and service businesses, construction and food, recruitment and retail. What all of these have in common are that they are driven by business owners who are;
They might have a specific problem they cannot fix on their own – such as renewing their strategy or vision, or building a succession plan. They might have become a bottleneck in their own business, and need to expand the capabilities of the team around them. They might simply be struggling to see the wood for the trees, as their time gets dominated by the day to day pressures and they lose sight of the bigger picture.
Whatever the business challenge is that they face, they can find that having an outside perspective, a critical friend who challenges, supports and holds them accountable helps them move to their own next Level Up.
